Teardrop Trailer – Build Day 5

FINISHED FRAMING THE CURVES

FrontCurveReadyForSandingBACK CURVES (HATCH)
I finished framing all the curves today.  Here are the back curves on both walls placed side by side, they match up fairly well. I sawed and chiseled them to approximately match and with a few passes of the sander I hope to be ready to skin the roof.

GreatStuffSRAY-IN INSULATION
I’m using Great Stuff Insulating Foam Sealant to fill the gaps between the insulation board and the frame. I dunno why but I’ve been looking forward to using this stuff all week.

GAPS
Above you can see one of the gaps I’m going to fill.

The gaps are the worse at the curve because of the irregular inside edge. Will fill this one too.

MessyStuffMESSY STUFF
This stuff is pretty messy, I managed not to goop up everything but I did a number on my work gloves.

MessSprayInStuffFILLED GAP
This stuff certainly does the trick though now I’m going to have to do some cleanup before I can cover this with the inside wall.

FilledSeamFILLED SEAM
I also filled any seams that we’re bigger than about a 1/4 of inch.

Today was a short work day, only about 3 hours. I was really glad to finally wrap up framing the curves and insulating the walls.
